His team announced on Sunday that Jason David Frank, a longstanding actor on numerous “Power Rangers” shows, had passed away at the age of 49.
On the superhero action program “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” which debuted in 1993, Frank was the first actor to play the character of Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger. He performed in more than one hundred episodes of the show.
The notification did not offer any information regarding the cause of death for Frank, who played the fan-favorite character on shows such as “Power Rangers Zeo,” “Power Rangers Turbo,” and “Power Rangers DinoThunder,” all of which aired between 1996 and 2004.
He played the lead role in the film “Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie,” which was released in 1997, and he has continued to guest act in other “Power Rangers” productions into this decade, most recently on an episode of the show “Super Power Beat Down” in the year 2020.
The manager of the actor Frank, who was born in California, released a statement in which he expressed his desire that the actor’s family and friends would be given solitude “at this dreadful time as we come to grips with the loss of such a lovely human person.”
Frank’s acting career spanned over three decades, and he also competed as a mixed martial artist throughout that time. In total, he has more than forty acting credits to his name.
