The majority of the program was devoted to country music, and it was hosted by Lorianne Crook and Charlie Chase.
So, back in the day, they devised a plan to play a practical joke on Alan Jackson by disguising cameras in various parts of the TNN headquarters.
While Alan was in the office, they published a fabricated news report claiming that he was going to be in an upcoming movie (which was not the case) and that the movie was going to have two scenes of Big Al in which he was naked (sounded like little Al would have make an appearance too).
They went as far as filming fictitious reactions from fans who were standing on the street to incorporate in the narrative. And a good number of them had a comedic quality:
If Kevin Costner was able to pull it off, so can you.
Alan, who was obviously unaware of any of this information, was antsy to get in touch with his manager as soon as possible in order to inquire about what the heck was going on.
But then, he also received a call from his wife Denise asking why the hell he was filming naked sequences in the upcoming California Cowboys picture, and you can slowly see Alan start to believe that things is going out of control.
It’s almost as if you can feel the gears moving in his mind, as if half of his brain is telling him it’s all a joke, while the other half is telling him he’s about to be standing in front of millions of people in his birthday suit.
On the other hand, as soon as he gets that call from Denise and realizes that he’s in trouble, you can see the terror that God has put in his eyes. He knows that he’s in hot water.
The mild-mannered Jackson typically seems very unshakeable, which is why it’s pretty humorous to watch him squirm a bit at the prospect of becoming naked in front of the camera. In the past, Jackson has participated in a number of raunchy photo shoots.
