On television, Jason Momoa cheekily introduced his newest must-have item to the audience.
During his visit on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on November 9, the actor who plays Aquaman displayed his Hawaiian Malo, which is a traditional piece of clothing from Hawaii. According to Momoa’s explanation to Jimmy Kimmel, the garments in question are those that he would be donning in the upcoming limited series Chief of War on Apple.
“I actually don’t even like wearing clothes anymore,” he said. “I’m in it every day. I wear it all the time.”
The See actor decided to put on an impromptu fashion show for the audience to demonstrate his point, so he took off his bright pink coat and his silky purple pajamas. The former Game of Thrones cast member spun around to provide a perspective that encompassed the entire garment while demonstrating the Malo, a garment that conceals the crotch area but exposes the posterior.
The first time anyone saw Momoa wearing a malo was in an Instagram post that he published in October. In the post, the actor was shown wearing the loincloth when he was out fishing. He told Kimmel that he had put on the Malo that day because he was getting ready to film Chief of War, which plays place in Hawaii in the 1780s and 1790s. Kimmel was intrigued by this revelation.
